Whip up quick and tasty broccoli beef udon with a flavorful sauce in a flash.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 pound flank steak, sliced across the grain 1/4-inch thick
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine sesame oil, cornstarch, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, salt, and baking soda. Add sliced steak and marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Whisk together mirin, water, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar in a small bowl to create a flavorful sauce; set it aside.
  • Bring a big pot of gently salted water to a boil on high heat.
  • Sear steak in a hot wok until caramelized and browned, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside to keep warm.
  • In the wok, add broccoli and a splash of water. Cover and steam until vibrant green, around 5 minutes.
  • Drop udon noodles into vigorously boiling water and cook until al dente, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the fragrant garlic and ginger to the sizzling wok, then reunite the steak with its flavorful companions.
  • Drain noodles and mix them with the sauce in the wok. Garnish with green onions, black sesame seeds, and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
