Create a delicious homemade special sauce for Big Mac® inspired burgers with American cheese, lettuce, onion, and pickles.
Ingredients:
  • 0.66666668653488 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1.5 teaspoons white wine vinegar, or more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 4 hamburger bun bottoms
  • 2 hamburger bun tops
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion, or to taste
  • 0.5 cup shredded lettuce, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickle slices, or to taste
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Form 4 flat beef patties that match the size of the hamburger buns. Arrange them on a waxed paper-lined tray and place in the freezer.
  • Combine mayonnaise, mustard, pickle relish, white wine vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl to create a flavorful sauce. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Toast the buns in batches until they are lightly golden, which should take 1 to 2 minutes.
  • On 2 bottom buns, spread the sauce, sprinkle 1 tablespoon minced onion, add 2 tablespoons lettuce, and top with pickles. On the other 2 bottom buns, spread the remaining sauce, sprinkle 1 tablespoon minced onion, add 2 tablespoons lettuce, and place American cheese on top.
  • Season the patties generously with salt and pepper. Sear them in a hot skillet, cooking 2 at a time, until nicely browned, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Top each bottom bun with a patty, stack them, and cover with the top buns.
