Indulge in bourbon-infused hand-dipped caramel apples for an extra decadent treat.
Ingredients:
  • 8 Granny Smith apples
  • 8 wooden sticks
  • 1 (16 ounce) package brown sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup dark corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon whiskey
Instructions:
  • Skewer each apple three-quarters of the way into the stem end with wooden sticks. Arrange the apples on a baking sheet lined with lightly greased aluminum foil.
  • In a large saucepan, bring sugar, corn syrup, and water to a boil over medium-high heat. Simmer until a thermometer reads 290 degrees F (143 degrees C), then remove from heat and stir in the bourbon, if using.
  • Maintain the saucepan on low heat to keep the caramel liquid for dipping the apples. Swiftly dip apples in the caramel, then place them on the greased aluminum foil until the coating has cooled and hardened.
