Brazilian Banana Bread

Brazilian cinnamon sugar cake: sweet, baked in a cake pan, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 egg whites
  • 6 bananas
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Combine margarine and sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Add yolks, then mix in flour and baking powder alternately with the milk.
  • Whisk egg whites in a separate bowl until fluffy. Gently fold the whites into the dough. Spread the mixture in a greased 9 x 12 inch pan. Layer sliced bananas on top. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl; sprinkle over the bananas.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool.
