Halloween-themed brownies made with fudge mix and vanilla frosting for a spooky sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box (1 lb. 3.5 oz.) fudge brownie mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 1 container (1 lb) vanilla creamy ready-to- spread frosting
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 large black gumdrop
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 12-inch pizza pan with foil and grease with shortening. Prepare brownie mix according to package instructions using water, oil, and eggs. Spread batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 26 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick almost comes out clean. Be careful not to overbake. Let it cool completely on a cooling rack for about 1 hour.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate chips from a small resealable bag over the vanilla frosting on the brownie in a spiral pattern, about 3/4 inch apart. Use a toothpick or knife to create a spiderweb design by drawing lines outward from the center of the brownie.
  • Cut each gumdrop crosswise into thirds. Place the small rounded end, rounded side up, on the brownie for the spider body. Cut 4 thin strips from each remaining gumdrop slice for legs, placing them on each side of the spider body.
