Prepare this decadent Canadian cheesecake ahead of time for maximum chill and set.
Ingredients:
  • 2.5 cups crushed chocolate cream-filled sandwich cookies (such as OREO® Cookies)
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup flaked coconut
  • 4 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup custard powder (such as Bird's® Custard Powder)
  • 6 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine cookie crumbs, melted butter, pecans, and coconut in a bowl, mix until fully blended. Press the mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish and refrigerate as you prepare the filling.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend cream cheese, sugar, and custard powder until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next. Spread the filling over the crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes until the center is nearly set. Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for a minimum of 3 hours until fully cold.
  • Combine semisweet chocolate and cream in a saucepan over low heat until smooth. Pour over cheesecake, spread to cover, refrigerate until firm (15-20 minutes). Serve cold and store leftovers in the refrigerator.
