Create a stunning Canada Day trifle with layers of cherries, raspberries, strawberries, fruit gelatin, vanilla pudding, and cake cubes.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups cubed angel food cake
  • 1 (3 ounce) package raspberry-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
  • 3 cups boiling water, divided
  • 3 cups cold water, divided
  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix, divided
  • 4 cups milk, divided
  • 1 (3 ounce) package cherry-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
  • 2 cups pitted and halved fresh cherries
  • 1 (3 ounce) package strawberry-flavored gelatin mix (such as Jell-O®)
  • 2 cups halved fresh strawberries
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 0.25 cup fresh raspberries, cherries, and strawberries for garnish
Instructions:
  • Begin by arranging the cake cubes at the base of a trifle bowl. Combine raspberry gelatin with 1 cup of boiling water in a large measuring cup, stirring until fully dissolved; then mix in 1 cup of cold water. Gently pour the raspberry gelatin mixture over the cake cubes, ensuring it is evenly spread, and gently press down. Scatter the raspberries on top of the gelatin in an even layer. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator until set, approximately 45 minutes.
  • In a bowl, vigorously whisk together 1 package of pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk for 2 minutes. Smooth the pudding over the layer of raspberries in the trifle bowl. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator until the pudding sets, approximately 45 minutes.
  • In a large measuring cup, dissolve cherry gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in 1 cup of cold water. Pour the gelatin over the pudding in the trifle bowl and spread the cherries on top. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator until the gelatin sets, approximately 45 minutes.
  • Combine the remaining pudding mix and 2 cups of cold milk in a bowl. Whisk for 2 minutes until smooth. Spread the pudding over the trifle and refrigerate until set, approximately 45 minutes. Enjoy!
  • Combine strawberry gelatin with 1 cup boiling water in a large measuring cup. Stir in 1 cup cold water. Pour the gelatin mixture over the pudding and top with strawberries. Chill the trifle in the refrigerator until set, about 1 hour.
  • Spread the luscious whipped topping over the trifle and elegantly place the reserved berries on top for a delightful finish.
