Decadent pecan pie with gooey caramel twist - a holiday must-have!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 36 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan halves
Instructions:
  • Collect all the ingredients needed for the recipe and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a saucepan over gentle heat, melt caramels with butter and milk until smooth, stirring often, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Set aside once the mixture is melted.
  • In a spacious bowl, combine sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt. Slowly blend in the melted caramel mixture, then fold in pecans. Transfer the delectable filling into the awaiting unbaked pie crust.
  • Bake in the oven until pastry is golden brown, about 45-50 minutes. Let cool on a wire rack until filling is firm, around 15 minutes.
