Caramel-Apple Bread Pudding

Enhance breakfast with maple syrup instead of caramel for a delightful twist on dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 cup fat-free cholesterol-free egg product
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 5 cups 1-inch cubes French bread
  • 1/2 cup caramel fat-free topping, warmed
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9x1 1/2 inches quiche dish or a 9x1 1/4 inches pie plate. Combine all ingredients except bread and caramel topping in a large bowl using a wire whisk until smooth. Gently fold in the bread and transfer the mixture to the quiche dish.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until beautifully golden and firm. Cut into wedges and generously drizzle with caramel topping before serving.
