Cheeseburger bombs: Ground beef, bacon, and Cheddar cheese filled appetizers for game day.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 16 ounces 80% lean ground beef
  • 3 slices bacon, chopped
  • 0.25 cup minced onion
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 tablespoons dill pickle relish
  • 3 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (16.3 ounce) package refrigerated biscuit dough (such as Pillsbury Grands!®)
  • 5 ounces Cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
  • 0.33 cup ketchup
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and generously coat 16 muffin cups across 2 pans with cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef, bacon, onion, salt, and pepper for about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain excess fat and mix in dill pickle relish, mustard, BBQ sauce, and garlic powder. Allow the filling to cool before using.
  • Divide each biscuit dough portion in half to make 16 biscuits. Flatten each half into a 1/4 inch thick circle. Place 2 tablespoons of the ground beef mixture in the center of each dough circle. Cut the cheese into 16 cubes and place one cube in each beef-filled circle. Fold the dough around the filling to form a ball, pinching the bottom to seal the biscuits.
  • Place each biscuit seam side down in a muffin cup. Gently spray the tops of the biscuits with cooking spray and then sprinkle with sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.
  • Bake until the crust is golden brown, about 15-20 minutes. Serve with a side of ketchup for dipping.
