Indulge in a delicious comfort classic with this easy cheeseburger tater tot casserole, featuring juicy ground beef, crispy tots, and gooey melted cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large onion, chopped into 1-inch pieces
  • butter-flavored cooking spray (such as Pam®)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed golden mushroom soup (such as Campbell's®)
  • 3 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (32 ounce) package frozen bite-size potato nuggets (such as Tater Tots®)
Instructions:
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, submerge the onion in water. Microwave on high until tender, about 7 to 8 minutes. Then, drain the onion.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while you generously coat a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Brown and crumble ground beef in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and discard excess grease.
  • Transfer the beef to the casserole dish and evenly scatter the onion pieces on top. Spread the soup over the onions, sprinkle the Cheddar cheese evenly over the soup, and then layer the frozen potato nuggets in rows on top of the cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Spray potato nuggets lightly with cooking spray and bake for an additional 10 minutes until they are cooked through and crispy.
