Crispy bacon-infused Tater Tots baked with melted Cheddar - perfect as a side or tasty game-day treat!
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 (32 ounce) package frozen bite-size potato nuggets (such as Tater Tots®)
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • In a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, crisp up the bacon on both sides for about 10 minutes. Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate and reserve, leaving the flavorful bacon grease in the skillet.
  • Lower the heat to medium and gently introduce the potato nuggets into the skillet. Sprinkle them with aromatic garlic salt and give them a good toss until every nugget is beautifully coated. Let them cook until they reach a delightful crispiness on the outside, taking approximately 10 minutes, making sure to turn them carefully a couple of times with a trusty spatula. Finally, gracefully take the skillet off the heat.
  • Remove half the potato nuggets and layer the remaining nuggets in the skillet. Top with half the Cheddar cheese, then add the rest of the nuggets and finish with the remaining cheese.
  • Place the skillet in the oven and bake until the nuggets are heated and the cheese is gooey and slightly golden, approximately 10 minutes.
  • Once the nuggets are in the oven, crumble the cooked bacon. Lastly, when you remove the skillet from the oven, sprinkle with the crumbled bacon, sour cream, and green onions.
