Effortlessly create a sophisticated chicken and plum pie with puff pastry.
Ingredients:
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 pound cooked chicken meat, shredded
  • 4 purple plums - pitted, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground mace
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground cloves
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 purple plums, pitted and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and snugly fit the puff pastry sheet into an 8-inch round or square pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until the bottom of the pastry is lightly browned.
  • Combine the chicken, 4 chopped plums, chicken broth, mace, cinnamon, and cloves in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread this mixture over the partially-baked crust. Place 2 plum slices on top. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar before baking.
  • Bake the pie in the oven for about 40 minutes until the crust turns a delightful golden brown and the plum slices have caramelized beautifully.
