Tender Chinese spareribs marinated in a flavorful blend of hoisin, honey, soy sauce, sake, and rice vinegar, baked to perfection with a sweet and tangy glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon grated fresh garlic
  • 0.25 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 pound pork spareribs
Instructions:
  • Combine a flavorful blend of hoisin sauce, ketchup, honey, soy sauce, sake, rice vinegar, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, and five-spice powder in a shallow glass dish. Add the ribs and ensure they are evenly coated. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours or overnight for best results.
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and create a steamy environment by placing a tray of water at the bottom. Arrange the ribs on a rack set over the tray for juicy and tender results.
  • Bake in the preheated oven on the center rack for 40 minutes, basting with marinade every 10 minutes. Allow marinade to caramelize during the last 10 minutes for a flavorful glaze. To add a crispy finish, broil briefly. Dispose of any extra marinade.
