Indulgent pecan-chocolate-banana cream pie that's easy to prepare but requires chilling time for optimal flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
  • 0.25 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 large bananas, sliced
  • 1 (3.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 0.5 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect temperature to create your culinary masterpiece.
  • Combine the pie dough with 1/4 cup of finely chopped pecans and knead until well blended. Press the pecan dough into a 9-inch pie pan, then line it with heavy-duty foil and fill with dried beans or pie weights. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the crust is set and lightly browned. Allow it to cool before proceeding (refer to Editor's Note).
  • Whip together cream cheese and confectioners' sugar until velvety smooth, then generously spread into the pie shell.
  • Prepare decadent chocolate pudding as directed on the package, but make it even richer by using 1/2 cup less milk. Let it cool.
  • Whisk together 1/2 cup of sugar with the cream until fluffy. Spread half the cream over the cream cheese in the shell. Layer sliced bananas on top, followed by the chocolate pie filling. Spread the remaining cream over the bananas. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. Chill for at least 3 hours or overnight before serving.
