Indulge in rich homemade chocolate pudding made from scratch with cocoa powder, sugar, milk, egg, and decadent chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Four 6-ounce ramekins or custard cups
Instructions:
  • In a heavy 2-quart saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually whisk in the milk to create a delicious cocoa milk base.
  • Bring the pudding mixture to a boil, whisking until smooth and well combined. Stir continuously until thickened, about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat when the pudding reaches desired thickness.
  • Beat the egg lightly in a heat-proof bowl. Slowly mix in the hot chocolate mixture.
  • Incorporate the decadent chocolate chips until fully melted, ensuring a velvety smooth mixture.
  • Transfer the pudding into individual ramekins or cups. For a smooth finish, place cut-out wax paper on the surface of each pudding cup. Refrigerate covered for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight until chilled. Optional: Garnish with whipped cream before serving.
