Indulge in chocolate-drizzled lace brittle - a decadent dessert for guests.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (350°F for dark or nonstick pan) and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in sugar and corn syrup, heating until boiling over medium-low heat while stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and quickly blend in flour, almonds, and vanilla. Spread mixture into an 11x10-inch rectangle on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for about 10 minutes until the brittle spreads thin and turns deep golden brown. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then transfer from the cookie sheet to a cooling rack. Allow it to cool completely, which should take around 15 minutes.
  • Place the chocolate chips in a small resealable freezer plastic bag and seal it. Microwave on High for about 1 minute or until the chocolate is softened. Gently massage the bag until the chocolate is smooth, then cut off a tiny corner of the bag. Drizzle the chocolate over the brittle, allowing it to stand for 1 hour until the chocolate is firm. Break into irregular pieces before serving.
