Indulgent cream cheese apple cake, with a cinnamon sugar topping, ideal for Hanukkah festivities.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 2 large baking apples, peeled and chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and coat an 8-inch springform pan with cooking spray.
  • In a bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups of sugar with butter, vanilla extract, and cream cheese until light and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Mix 2 tablespoons of the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the flour mixture, saving the remainder for later.
  • Combine the flour mixture with the butter mixture to create a velvety batter, then fold in the apples. Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and generously sprinkle the top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour and 15 minutes until the cake slightly pulls away from the edges. Allow the cake to cool completely on a wire rack before removing from the pan and slicing.
