Delicious shortcut breakfast bread combining cinnamon rolls and focaccia for a sweet and crispy treat. Easy and quick to make with the help of a premade ingredient.
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup, plus 1 tablespoon canola oil, divided
  • All-purpose flour, for work surface
  • 2 (1-pound) fresh prepared pizza dough balls
  • 1/4 cup, plus 2 tablespoons light brown sugar, divided, plus more for sprinkling
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 7 tablespoons (3 1/2 ounces) unsalted butter, softened, divided
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Collect all your ingredients. Use 1/4 cup of oil to evenly coat a 13- x 9-inch baking pan.
  • Flatten dough balls to 1-inch thickness on a floured surface. Combine 2 tablespoons light brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle sugar mixture on one dough round, stack the second round on top, and knead until smooth dough ball forms.
  • Place the dough in the pan, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rest in a warm place for 3 hours, removing the plastic wrap every hour and gently pressing the dough out to be as thin as possible.
  • Preheat your oven to a piping hot 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Spread the uncovered dough evenly in the pan, pressing into the edges. Grease your hands and create deep dimples all over the dough using your fingertips. Drizzle evenly with the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil, then create dimples all over the dough with your fingertips once more.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake until slightly puffed and beginning to turn golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Meanwhile, melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat, sprinkle in the remaining 1/4 cup light brown sugar and remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and stir until well blended. Drizzle the mixture evenly over the dough. Return the dish to the oven and bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) until nicely browned and puffed, about 8 to 10 more minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix cream cheese and 1 tablespoon butter. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy for about 30 seconds. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat on low speed until blended, approximately 30 seconds. Stir in milk and vanilla until the icing is smooth and creamy.
  • Pour the icing over the freshly baked bread while it's still warm to enjoy immediately.
