Sweet cream cheese wontons with a cinnamon sugar coating - a delightful twist on traditional Chinese fried dumplings!
Ingredients:
  • oil for frying
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 9 tablespoons white sugar, divided
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 0.25 (16 ounce) package wonton wrappers, at room temperature
Instructions:
  • Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese, 8 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon until smooth. Place 1 teaspoon of the mixture onto each wonton wrapper. Fold the wonton into a triangle, sealing two edges with water and pressing the sides to remove any air. Moisten the triangle ends and fold each into the center.
  • Gently add the filled wontons to the hot oil and fry until both sides are beautifully golden, approximately 2 minutes per side.
  • Combine 1 tablespoon of cinnamon with 1 tablespoon of sugar in a small bowl, then generously sprinkle the mixture over the fried wontons.
