Delicious monkey bread coated in cinnamon sugar and sticky glaze for a sweet breakfast treat right out of the oven or the next day.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 4.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup canola oil
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil, or as needed
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 teaspoons milk
Instructions:
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix warm water, brown sugar, and yeast, then let it sit until frothy for about 10 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup oil and set aside.
  • Combine and blend flour and salt in a bowl with a sifter.
  • Combine the flour mixture with the yeast mixture and knead until a sticky dough ball forms. Coat a separate bowl with oil, transfer the dough, and swirl to coat. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, approximately 1 hour.
  • Combine white sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a fluted tube pan, like a Bundt® pan.
  • Gently deflate dough and shape into 1-inch balls. Coat balls with cinnamon-sugar mix and layer in a greased tube pan. Sprinkle with more cinnamon sugar and a light drizzle of oil. Repeat process with remaining dough balls and cinnamon sugar.
  • Bake in the oven until perfectly puffed up, for approximately 25 minutes.
  • Combine confectioners' sugar and milk in a bowl, then generously drizzle the glaze over the warm monkey bread.
