Apple crumble with a mix of eating and Bramley apples. Comforting, easy, and irresistibly delicious.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 kg mixed apples (I like to use half Bramley)
  • 150 g golden caster sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • 50 g unsalted butter (cold)
  • 100 g plain flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas 6. Peel, core, and chop the apples into 3cm chunks. Cook with 100g of sugar and lemon zest until softened. Cool slightly. Combine butter and flour until crumbly, mix in sugar. Spread apples in a baking dish, top with crumble mixture. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden. Serve with vanilla custard.
