Buttery streusel cranberry bars: easy to make, with a delicious crust and topping, cut into squares.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 cups cranberry sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking environment.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Use 2 knives or a pastry blender to cut in butter until mixture resembles small peas. Gently mix in beaten egg, keeping the mixture slightly crumbly.
  • Layer 1/2 of the flour mixture evenly in a 9x13-inch baking dish to create a sturdy crust base. Top evenly with cranberry sauce and finish by sprinkling the rest of the flour mixture over the sauce.
  • Bake in the oven until the top turns a delicious golden brown, approximately 40 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into 15 bars.
