Flaky crescent roll dough filled with ham, Swiss cheese, and eggs for a delicious breakfast.
Ingredients:
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2 12x16-inch parchment paper sheets
  • 2 (12 ounce) packages crescent roll dough (such as Pillsbury® Grands!™)
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, or more to taste
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 0.5 cup diced onion
  • 0.5 cup diced red bell pepper
  • 10 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon half-and-half cream or heavy whipping cream
  • 1 pinch salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon bagel seasoning (such as Trader Joe's® Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Blend)
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Lay out the parchment paper on your work surface. Unwrap the crescent dough and transfer the contents of one can onto each sheet. Roll out the dough into two 10x15-inch rectangles, ensuring the perforations are sealed, with one rectangle per parchment paper.
  • Place one of the dough rectangles with its parchment paper onto a 13x18-inch sheet pan; save the second rectangle for later.
  • Place a layer of savory ham slices onto the dough, ensuring to leave a 1/2-inch border all around. Follow by spreading a delicate layer of Dijon mustard over the ham slices.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter until sizzling. Add onions and bell peppers, sautéing until they are slightly softened, approximately 3 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to medium low and gently incorporate 1 tablespoon of butter into the vegetables in the skillet until it is melted.
  • In a large bowl, vigorously mix eggs, half-and-half or cream, salt, and pepper until fully combined. Pour this luscious egg mixture into the skillet with the vegetables. Cook while gently lifting and shifting with a spatula until eggs are perfectly cooked but still slightly moist in appearance.
  • Spread the gently cooked egg mixture evenly over the ham slices, leaving a 1/2-inch border of dough. Layer the Swiss cheese slices on top of the eggs.
  • Lay the second dough rectangle on top, using the parchment to help align it. Gently remove the parchment. Dampen your fingertips and seal the edges of the two dough rectangles together, then use a fork to create a decorative edge.
  • Melt the remaining butter and brush it over the dough using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the bagel seasoning on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until beautifully browned. Let it cool on a wire rack for around 15 minutes, then slice into serving pieces using a sharp knife.
