Try this delicious cheesy beef and sausage crescent roll lasagna for a family-friendly meal without the pasta.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 0.5 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 0.75 cup chopped onion
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 0.5 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried basil
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash ground black pepper
  • 1 cup creamed cottage cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • 1. Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown ground beef and sausage until crumbly, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease. Stir in onion, tomato paste, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
  • Mix the cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg together in a bowl to create the filling.
  • Lay out crescent roll dough on a 15x13-inch ungreased cookie sheet. Seal the edges together. Spread half the meat mixture on top, leaving a 1-inch border. Add the cheese filling, then spoon on the remaining meat mixture. Place mozzarella slices on top.
  • Place the remaining crescent roll dough on top, overlapping the edges by about 1/4 inch. Seal the edges by pinching to prevent leaking, then brush with milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake until golden brown, about 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven.
