Crunchy chocolate cookies inspired by Oreo wafers, sans cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder (such as Hershey's®)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix butter, sugar, and egg until fluffy using an electric mixer.
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then incorporate into the butter mixture 1 cup at a time. Slowly mix in water and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Using a spoon, place dollops of cookie dough onto the baking sheets. Gently press down to flatten the dough mounds.
  • Bake in the oven until set, approximately 20 minutes. Allow to cool for 3 minutes before transferring from the baking sheets.
