Indulge in crunchy cherry multigrain cookies - a decadent treat for chocolate lovers, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1 egg or 1/4 cup fat-free egg product
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup white whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup uncooked 5-grain rolled hot cereal
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/3 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Combine sugars, oil, egg, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Mix in flour, cereal, baking soda, and salt until combined (the dough will be slightly soft). Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Spoon dough onto cookie sheets with rounded tablespoons, keeping them 2 inches apart. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes until edges turn light golden brown (centers will appear slightly underdone). Let cool for 1 minute before transferring to cooling racks. Cool completely and store in a sealed container.
