Indulge in a decadent caramel apple poke cake with a luscious caramel glaze. Perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients:
  • 1.75 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cups chopped Winesap apples
  • 2.5 cups sifted self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup heavy whipping cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, mix together white sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth using an electric mixer. Add apples, flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and cinnamon and beat until a thick batter forms. Spread the batter in the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Use a fork to poke holes in the hot cake.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 1/2 minutes. Pour the hot glaze over the warm cake, allowing it to soak for 3 hours before serving.
