Delicious apple crumble pie with a simple pat-in-pan crust.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced peeled tart cooking apples
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine 1 cup flour and 1/3 cup sugar in a medium bowl. Add 1/2 cup butter and blend until mixture is crumbly using a pastry blender or two knives. Press the crumb mixture into an ungreased 9-inch round pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Combine all Crumb Topping ingredients until a crumbly mixture forms; then, set it aside.
  • Combine 1/3 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Toss apples until coated. Spread apple mixture over baked crust and top with Crumb Topping.
  • Bake for approximately 30 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are soft. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving warm or chilled. Cut into 12 wedges.
