Tasty bacon fried rice with egg, green beans, and leftover rice - a quick and clever side dish!
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup frozen French-cut green beans, thawed
  • 0.5 onion, roughly chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 cups cold cooked rice
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • In a skillet, crisp up bacon over medium-high heat for about 7 minutes. Reserve 1 to 2 teaspoons of bacon grease in the skillet, then add green beans, onion, and garlic. Sauté until bacon is crispy and green beans and onions are soft for about 3 minutes.
  • In the same skillet, create a space for the sesame oil next to the bacon mixture and heat for about 30 seconds. Add the egg and cook until barely set, around 1 minute. Mix everything together.
  • Combine the rice with the soy sauce until the rice is thoroughly coated. Stir and cook until the rice is heated through, for about 3 to 5 minutes.
