Delicious banana fritters with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, a tasty twist on traditional fritters.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon margarine, melted
  • 1 quart oil for frying
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar for dusting
Instructions:
  • In a small bowl, mix together flour, white sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
  • Combine mashed bananas with eggs, milk, and margarine in a large bowl until smooth. Gently fold in the flour mixture.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pan until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spoon the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, flipping once, which should take 2 to 8 minutes. Afterwards, let the cooked treats drain on paper towels and dust them with confectioners' sugar for a delightful finish.
