"Simple yet flavorful Thanksgiving turkey with tasty stuffing, perfect for all levels of cooks!"
Ingredients:
  • 12 pounds whole turkey
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 5 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1 (6 ounce) package dry bread stuffing mix
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 0.25 cup chopped onion
  • 4 slices toasted white bread, torn into small pieces
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • Discard giblets, then rinse and pat dry the turkey before placing it in a shallow roasting pan.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and 4 tablespoons of butter to a boil. Add stuffing mix, cover, then remove from heat and allow to rest for 5 minutes.
  • After the stuffing has had time to rest, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Sauté the celery and onion until tender, for about 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Combine the celery, onion, toasted bread pieces, and season generously with salt and pepper to the stuffing mixture.
  • Gently fill the turkey body and neck cavities with stuffing. Massage the turkey with vegetable oil and cover loosely with foil.
  • Roast the turkey in the preheated oven for 3 1/2 to 4 hours until the thigh reaches 180°F (85°C) and the stuffing reaches 165°F (70°C). Uncover the turkey for the last 30 minutes to brown.
