Elevate your holiday baking with nutty Browned Butter Snickerdoodles. Transform the classic cookie by browning butter for a rich flavor twist. Simply heat, stir in sugar cookie mix, roll in spicy sugar mix, and bake to perfection. Master this technique for more delectable holiday treats.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Heat butter in a 1-quart saucepan over medium heat for 5 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently, until it turns light golden brown. Transfer the butter to a large bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  • Mix cookie mix, water, and egg into browned butter until a soft dough forms. Shape the dough into 36 (1 1/4-inch) balls. Combine sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg in a small bowl. Roll the balls in the sugar-spice mixture. Place the balls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets, flatten slightly, and discard any excess sugar-spice mixture.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes until edges are set, then let cool for 2 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes. Store in an airtight container once cooled.
