Easy shortcut cinnamon sugar cookies with creamy frosting topped with crushed cinnamon candy. Use Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix for quick and beautiful holiday treats.
Ingredients:
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting (from 16-oz container)
  • 1 tablespoon red cinnamon candies, finely crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  • Combine cookie mix, flour, butter, egg, and cinnamon in a large bowl until a soft dough forms.
  • Roll the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness, then use a 3-inch star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Place the cutouts 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer from sheets to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 20 minutes.
  • Spread a lavish 1/2 teaspoon of frosting on each cookie, then sprinkle crushed candies over the tops. Allow them to stand for about 30 minutes or until the frosting is set. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature with waxed paper between the layers.
