Create spooky and irresistible Halloween Cake Pops using Betty Crocker™ Butter Pecan Cake Mix and Cream Cheese Frosting. Perfect for parties or trick-or-treat treats!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 3 cups orange candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 3 cups black candy melts
  • 54 paper lollipop sticks
  • Halloween candy sprinkles
  • Block of plastic foam
Instructions:
  • Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box for a 13x9-inch pan using water, oil, and eggs. Allow the cake to cool. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Crumble the cake into a large bowl and mix in the frosting thoroughly. Shape the mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls and place them on the cookie sheet. Freeze until firm, then store in the refrigerator.
  • Place orange candy melts and half of the shortening in a microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on Medium (50%) power for 1 minute, then in 15-second intervals until melted, stirring until smooth. Repeat this process with the black candy melts and remaining shortening. Dip one end of a lollipop stick about 1/2 inch into either color melted candy and insert it into a cake ball, not more than halfway. Repeat with remaining cake balls and sticks. Place them back on the cookie sheet and refrigerate for 5 minutes. Remove from the refrigerator a few at a time, dip half of the cake balls in the melted orange candy and the other half in the black candy, tapping off excess. Decorate with candy sprinkles, then poke the opposite end of the stick into a foam block. Allow them to stand until the candy sets.
  • If needed, warm up any leftover melted candy. Drizzle the orange pops with the melted black candy and the black pops with the melted orange candy.
