Whip up creamy hummus in 5 minutes with chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and a food processor for a delectable homemade version surpassing store-bought.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup of tahini (roasted, not raw)
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil (plus more for garnishing)
  • 2 garlic cloves, mashed and roughly chopped
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans of chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • Garnishes: A sprinkling of paprika, a swirl of olive oil, toasted pine nuts, and/or chopped parsley
Instructions:
  • Pulse tahini and olive oil in a food processor until smooth.
  • Combine the garlic, garbanzo beans, lemon juice, water, and salt in a food processor. Process until smooth to achieve your desired hummus consistency. Adjust seasoning with additional salt or lemon juice as needed.
  • Presentation: Spoon the dish into a serving platter, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika, toasted pine nuts, or fresh parsley. Accompany with crackers, raw vegetables like carrots or celery, or toasted pita bread.
