Easy microwave cheese sauce - totally lump free recipe

Microwave hack: Smooth white sauce in minutes, no lumps guaranteed!
Ingredients:
  • 60g butter
  • 75g (½ cup) plain flour
  • 500ml milk
  • 100g (1 cup) pre-grated cheddar
Instructions:
  • Melt butter in a 2L microwave-safe jug for about 30 seconds on High. Stir in flour until smooth. Add milk and whisk to combine. Microwave for 2 minutes, whisking to remove lumps. Microwave in 30-second bursts, whisking in between, until mixture thickens and boils, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Sprinkle in the cheese and stir until melted. Microwave on High for 30 seconds or until cheese is melted. Whisk mixture until smooth, then season to taste.
