Transform crescent roll dough into delectable, buttery, cinnamon-sugar cakes - a festive and affordable Mardi Gras delight!
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons milk
  • 2 drops green food coloring, or as needed
  • 2 drops yellow food coloring, or as needed
  • 2 drops purple food coloring, or as needed
  • 1 pinch colored sugar or festive sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Heat up the oven to 360°F (182°C) and lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Combine the brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon in a small bowl, stirring until you achieve a smooth mixture.
  • Take the crescent roll dough out of the can and divide it into 4 rectangles. Press the seams firmly to seal the dough.
  • Spread the butter mixture evenly over each rectangle, leaving a border around the edges. Roll tightly into a 10-inch log, sealing any openings. Bring the ends together to form an oval shape, pressing tightly to seal and prevent filling from leaking during air frying.
  • Add one or two pieces into the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd it.
  • Cook in the preheated air fryer for 5 minutes per batch until crispy. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
  • Whisk together powdered sugar and milk until perfectly smooth. Divide the mixture into 3 bowls, and stir in food coloring to each bowl.
  • Drizzle icing on the cooled cake, sprinkle with sugar or sprinkles, and allow icing to dry for about 10 minutes before serving.
