Nostalgic pork chop recipe with creamy mushroom sauce and crispy onion topping.
Ingredients:
  • all-purpose flour
  • 6 pork loin chops, 1/2 inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 (6 ounce) can french-fried onions, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a cozy 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine the flour, salt, and pepper on a rimmed plate. Coat the pork chops with the flour mixture, shaking off any extra.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sizzle the pork chops until golden on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer to an 11x17-inch baking dish.
  • Blend canned soup and water until smooth, then pour over pork chops and top with half of the fried onions.
  • Bake covered in the preheated oven for 50 minutes until bubbly. Gently fold in sour cream and sprinkle with remaining onions.
  • Pop back in the oven and bake, leaving it uncovered, until the sauce is nice and hot, for about 10 more minutes.
