Quickly sauté leeks with butter, salt, and pepper for a delicious veggie dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 large leeks
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Trim and discard the root ends and dark green tops of the leeks. Slice leeks into 1/2 inch pieces. Soak in cold water for 5 minutes to remove any sand. Drain leeks in a colander after they float to the top.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly. Add leek slices and let them cook without stirring for 8 minutes.
  • Flip the slices and generously season with salt and pepper before cooking for an additional 8 minutes.
