Grandma's famous walnut pie: a decadent blend of walnuts, sugar, corn syrup, butter, and eggs - a beloved classic from her Woman's Club days.
Ingredients:
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 (9 inch) deep-dish pie crust
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, vigorously whisk eggs until fluffy. Combine sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt into the mixture. Gently whisk in melted butter, then fold in walnuts. Pour the decadent filling into the awaiting pie crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then lower the temperature to 300°F (150°C) and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes until set in the center.
