Whip up chewy no-bake cake bars with a luscious brown sugar and cocoa syrup drizzle over puffed wheat cereal. Deliciously simple!
Ingredients:
  • 8 cups puffed wheat cereal
  • 1 cup brown sugar, not packed
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons Dutch-process cocoa (such as Fry's®)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Place a sheet of parchment paper in a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Add the puffed wheat cereal to a spacious bowl.
  • In a saucepan, mix together brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and cocoa. Bring to a boil and cook for about 2 minutes, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Drizzle the sweetened mixture over the puffed wheat cereal in the bowl, ensuring every piece is well-coated. Transfer the mixture to the lined pan, spreading it out evenly. Allow it to cool and set for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
