Elevate your steak dinner with this quick and elegant filet mignon in a decadent red wine-balsamic sauce. Ready in 15 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 2 (4 ounce) filet mignon steaks
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • salt to taste
  • 0.25 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 0.25 cup dry red wine
Instructions:
  • Prepare your ingredients.
  • Season both sides of the steaks with a generous sprinkle of freshly ground pepper and a pinch of salt.
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks in the hot pan until beautifully browned, approximately 1 minute on each side.
  • Lower the heat to medium-low then add in the balsamic vinegar and red wine. Cover and cook for 4 minutes. Flip the steaks, baste with the sauce, cover, and continue cooking for another 4 minutes.
  • Plate the steaks on two warmed plates. Drizzle a tablespoon of glaze over each steak and serve promptly.
