Elevate fried chicken gizzards with a flavorful twist using garlic powder in the breading.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds chicken gizzards
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tablespoons seasoned salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Prepare the chicken gizzards by trimming off any excess fat and gristle, then give them a thorough rinse under cold running water.
  • Submerge gizzards in cold water and bring to a vigorous boil. Cook for 15 minutes, then strain using a colander. Let cool.
  • Combine the flour, seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a plastic bag and shake vigorously until well mixed.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a covered skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Coat gizzards in flour mixture, shake off excess, then delicately place them in the hot oil to brown. Lower heat, cover, and cook for 10 more minutes. Drain on paper towels.
