Chewy, cheesy, and golden brown perfection - a must-have for Italian cuisine.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (.25 ounce) envelope active dry yeast
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.33333334326744 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
  • In a cup or small bowl, gently sprinkle yeast over the lukewarm water. Allow it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes until dissolved.
  • Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir vigorously until the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, approximately 35 minutes.
  • Take the dough out of the bowl and knead briefly on a floured surface. Roll it to a 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness or to fit your baking sheet. Transfer to a greased baking sheet and top with butter, garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese. Allow it to rest as you preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve warm.
