Indian-inspired flatbread adds a flavorful touch to your meal.
Ingredients:
  • 240g plain flour
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 30g ghee
  • 125ml water
  • 60g ghee, extra, melted
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Ghee, extra, to shallow-fry
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt together. Add ghee and use your fingertips to rub it into the flour until it looks like fine breadcrumbs. Pour in water and stir until combined. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface, knead for 10 minutes until it's smooth and stretchy. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for 1 hour.
  • - Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. - Mix the melted ghee and garlic in a small bowl. - Roll each portion into a 20cm disc using a rolling pin. - Brush the disc with the ghee mixture, then roll it into a log shape and finally into a snail-shaped disc. - Repeat this process with the remaining portions and ghee mixture. - Roll each portion into a 15cm round.
  • In a hot frying pan, melt additional ghee. Cook each paratha for 1-1 1/2 minutes per side until golden brown and slightly puffed. Transfer to a plate, cover with foil to keep warm, and continue with the rest of the parathas.
