Elevate sugar cookies with a white chocolate glaze for a festive touch.
Ingredients:
  • Reynolds™ Parchment Paper
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  • 1 3/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon anise seed
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup white vanilla baking chips
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon anise extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds, toasted
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a cookie sheet lined with Reynolds Parchment Paper. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and lemon peel, then mix in 1 3/4 cups flour along with cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, pepper, and anise seed.
  • Roll the dough into 1 1/4-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on a lined cookie sheet. Use a drinking glass dipped in 2 tablespoons of flour to press each ball until they are about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Bake for 11 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Transfer from cookie sheet to a cooling rack and let cool for 15 minutes.
  • Place the baking chips and oil in a small microwavable bowl. Microwave on High for 10 seconds and stir. Continue to microwave in 10-second intervals until smooth. Add anise extract and stir. Transfer the mixture to a small resealable plastic bag and snip off a tiny corner. Drizzle the glaze over the cookies, sprinkle with almonds, and allow to set for about 30 minutes.
