Create a visually stunning and delicious, yet simple-to-make bar.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoons green crème de menthe
  • 2 tablespoons white crème de cacao
  • 1 1/2 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8x2 inch square pan. In a medium bowl, cream together granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of butter, vanilla, and eggs using an electric mixer or stir with a spoon. Mix in flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, mix all remaining ingredients except chocolate and spread over the brownies. Chill in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • Melt chocolate in a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, then spread it evenly over the powdered sugar mixture. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours. Cut into 5 rows by 5 rows to make bars, then slice each bar diagonally in half to create triangles.
