Tender green beans cooked in apple cider, topped with crispy bacon and onions - a perfect Thanksgiving side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen green beans
  • 0.5 cup apple cider
  • 0.5 teaspoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons real bacon bits
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
Instructions:
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, mix green beans and cider. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Stir the beans, then microwave for an additional 5 minutes until tender. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the beans to a serving bowl and set aside the cider for later.
  • In a small skillet over medium heat, sizzle bacon bits and onions in olive oil until onions are tender, about 5 to 10 minutes. Then, add green bean cider, simmering until liquid is reduced, about 5 minutes.
  • Ladle savory bacon mixture generously over the fresh green beans. Sprinkle with a dash of salt and freshly ground black pepper to enhance flavors.
