Succulent grilled pork tenderloin marinated in a flavorful soy-ginger-sesame marinade.
Ingredients:
  • 1 to 1 1/4 pound pork tenderloin, trimmed of silver-skin
  • 1 inch piece peeled ginger root, sliced into coins
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (use gluten-free soy sauce if cooking gluten-free)
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup minced green onions
  • 1/4 cup minced cilantro (including tender stems)
  • 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
Instructions:
  • Prepare the marinade: finely chop ginger and garlic in a mini-chopper or food processor. Transfer to a bowl, then mix in soy sauce, brown sugar, green onions, cilantro, seasoned rice wine vinegar, olive oil, and sesame oil until well combined. Set aside 1/4 cup of the marinade for basting.
  • Marinate the pork tenderloin by placing it in a bag or bowl and coating it with the marinade. Let it sit at room temperature for an hour while you get the grill ready.
  • Heat the grill for both direct and indirect heat. Once it's hot enough (you can hold your hand an inch above the grill grates on the hot side for only one second), take the tenderloin out of the marinade and brush it with olive oil.
  • Sear tenderloin on all sides over high direct heat, basting with reserved marinade: Grill tenderloin over high heat, turning to brown evenly on all sides while basting with reserved marinade.
  • Transfer the tenderloin to the cooler side of the grill, cover, and continue cooking until reaching 140°F internal temperature, about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from grill when done.
  • Cover gently with foil and allow to rest for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • To serve, arrange the sliced dish on a plate and generously drizzle with the flavorful reserved marinade. Enjoy with bok choy, rice, asparagus, or snap peas.
